hmm...have you checked the slackness of the chain yet?...I usually get a knocking noise, but it's always either my keys or my rucksack straps! ____________________ TiN

Knock knock means it needs a bike doctor. I hope that helps. |

Hi
Could well be the chain. Either too tight or it has developed a tight spot / seized link. Stick it on the centre stand and check the chain tension at the tightest point
If that isnt the problem then check the wheel bearings, including the one on the sprocket carrier, but if they are making that much noise the handling would be frightening
All the best

Hi
Well, where does the noise seem to be coming from? Is the knocking engine speed related or road speed related, or just doing it when it feels like it?
Big end bearings can knock but would probably be audiable all the time. Clutch can make some off rattles and bangs. Gearbox is probably not likely to knock (unless seriously having problems). Chain can cause off noises if badly adjusted / oddly stretched.
All the best
