No joke. My Fricking bike's knocking!!! Only when the clutch is out and I have revs on and I'm moving. Gets faster with more revs. I need to sort it before it does some damage.

Could it be the chain??

Pllleeeeaaaassseee help meeeeee!!!

Cheers:)

hmm...have you checked the slackness of the chain yet?...I usually get a knocking noise, but it's always either my keys or my rucksack straps! Razz

Hi

Could well be the chain. Either too tight or it has developed a tight spot / seized link. Stick it on the centre stand and check the chain tension at the tightest point

If that isnt the problem then check the wheel bearings, including the one on the sprocket carrier, but if they are making that much noise the handling would be frightening

All the best

Keith

Checked the chain, no real probs there. Gonna get the rest looked at soon. The knock is tempremental. It's a ferkin pain in't arse. Only does it with the clutch out which is too weird!

Hi

Well, where does the noise seem to be coming from? Is the knocking engine speed related or road speed related, or just doing it when it feels like it?

Big end bearings can knock but would probably be audiable all the time. Clutch can make some off rattles and bangs. Gearbox is probably not likely to knock (unless seriously having problems). Chain can cause off noises if badly adjusted / oddly stretched.

All the best

Keith

I dunno mate. It only makes the noise while I'm accelerating and speed up with the revs/speed. Don't think it does it off the stand. Knocks really loud if I roll of the throttle quick and it hits engine braking. I can feel it through the bike and it sounds like its coming from the engine but I can't really tell.

AAArgh!!

I think it's sorted. Lubed the chain up to fuck hoping to release any tight spots. Didn't knock at all this morning. /Me is hopeful
