I'm starting an apprenticeship in September on £12k/year for the first 30weeks, then to £17k until 72weeks (I think) then £22k/year for the final stretch and the end of the 2 years. So it's not always minimum wage. However, it could be as low as £4.65 an hour (could be £4.xx something else, but it starts with £4) up until the age of 21. Normal minimum wage laws are different for apprenticeships if you are under 21. I can't remember the law exactly, but I found it on the interweb somewhere when I was looking. ____________________ :: Honda XR 125 L ('53) => Kawasaki GPZ 500S ('02) => Suzuki SV650S ('00) => Aprilia RSV-R ('51) :: |

There is a minimum wage for 18 and over which is about £4.50 and then its raised at 21 to about £5.60, If you're under 18 expect to be paid whatever the hell they like really! My mates where on £3.30 an hour doing same as me but because I was older was earning more ____________________ 2012 KTM EXC 250

When i was in my apprenticeship i started on 1.35 an hour.
Then got a payrise to 3.25 an hour in the 2nd year...
IIRC The minimum wage doesnt count for apprenticeships, as the company has to pay to send you to college, accomodation when there, everything like that. Which doesnt come cheap. ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...
