today comin back from london about 1pm

i was riding along the A41 had just pulled away from lights i was at the front

a mercedes was in the lane to the left of me he began to overtake so i was watching him carefully, at this point i was about level with his rear door and then without turning his head, indicating or giving any signal at all, he pulled straight over, his rear bumper caught the left side of my step through missing my feet by inches and sending my into the central reservation leaving me to deal with steel crash barriers

AND WHATS WORSE

the fuck didnt realise, he just drove on, an old white haired business man on his GOD DAMN PHONE driving a mercedes which is clearly to big for him to drive safely, not even able to notice when an impact has occured

i got on the brakes quickly and so didnt ride up onto the curve, the bikes front wheel just hit the curb and changed direction tipping it to the right and allowing me to get my right foot down quick enough to prevent me dropping it, but it hurt my leg cos of the weight

If that happened to me, i'd get myself together and race after the fucker. I'd then take his plate and report him for basically hitting a bike and running. There are other solutions, but I won't encourage them

i was about to say you should have hit ur horn...i always seem to remeber i have a horn after a close call

my horn takes a lot of thumb acrobatics to reach its just not possible in a hurry to have to change your whole hand position

my first thought was "oh shit this is gonna hurt"

then "hmm maybe i dont have to drop it"

so i focused on the brake levers

If it is round town then it might be worth reporting it to PC plod. They might have that area under CCTV and be able to find the rego if you know the date and time.

After all the Merc driver has nicely been driving without due care and attention as well as failing to stop after an accident
