I am interested in either the RS50 (the insurance costs have put me off a bit though) and the Gilera DNA 50.

what do you guys think?

RS50 is a race replica it needs to be kept in high revs to really go fast.

Gilera DNA 50: my mate had one. Its merely a scooter inside a motorbike frame. its quite fun

Depends what your using it for and what sort of biker you are. If you want a race bike the RS50 would be the bike for you but you'll hate being in traffic with one then again you would probably filter anyway Laughing

the Gilera DNA will be more comfortable and a bit of fun and probably better on petrol too

What will you be using your bike for?

Derbi senda or any other LC50. You will drop it. You will crash it. The fairings on the RS50 will look battered after 3 weeks.

And, you look less of a tit sat upright at 55MPH than you do bent over.

I've had my bike 3 months and immaculate fairing condition, haven't dropped it or crashed it either. Laughing

If you get a geared 50cc you won't like riding around slow in towns etc (Even though you would filter).

I've got one and even though their not fast they don't like going 10-15mph in town when theres traffic. I can't explain it really, the bike just "wants" to go faster i guess it's the same with all bikes though.

RS50 and all other geared 50cc cost alot for maintenance and need to be kept spick & span if you want it to work well. Scooters are better for commuting and just going around town, low running cost also.

If your going to get a car at 17 and you don't have a specific interest in bikes get a moped. If you have an interest in bikes and want one at 17 then get a geared 50cc.

Hope this helps.
