hi, iv been looking ahead for my next bike, passing test soon and am just waiting for money now.
i realy like the new bandit 600 shape, but its hard to find one (and i dont mind a little bit of surface damage so salvage isnt a problem) in my price braket, im aiming to spend £1500 at most on bike and restriction. so anyway, iv looked at the older bandits, but dont like the chunky tailpiece. so, iv seen a old bandit with an SV650 tailpiece and another one with a gixxa tailpiece.

can anyone tell me how hard it is to change? is it a job i cn do with a machanic m8 easy?

if anyone has any links or things related i would be greatfull.
cheers
dudeskin

If you get an aftermarket bandit tail piece, you can just swap them over, they probably do them in GSXr Style. Other bodywork might need modification, in fact I'm pretty much count on it however you can make anything fit if you want.

Is the place to go, There are loads of people with bandit streetfighters on there with a variety of seat units. Its unlikely that you will get a unit off another bike to just bolt on without some modification to the frame. You might be better looking out for a aftermarket race unit but to be honest I've never seen one for sale.

Just remember that the second you touch the frame that you will be probably reducing the value of the bike and should you be involved in an accident the insurance company will use it against you if they can and you haven't declared it.

Beware that the rear subframe is welded on, too. So you can't just unbolt the entire arse of the bike!
