Riding a two stroke aprillia rs 125

Alright am a new to biking and bought an aprilia rs125, I have had a few teething problems and it wouldnt start took it to a garage did summat to the carbs and it worked fine for a few days and wouldnt start, so took it back and he said that it is due to gassing and said that its because Im not revving it to 7000/8000 rpm I generally go to around 4000rpm, does this sound reasonable and has anyone had gassing problems?
Plus any tips on how to ride these things properly?

The only way to ride a two stroke properly, is to rev the nuts off it. Seriously.

They coke up if you don't and you will continually experience problems, so at least once a week you need to run it at max revs for a couple of miles. This will help burn off the smeg from the plug.

If you're not up to that yet, then the other option is to remove and clean the spark plug every now and then.

They do thrive on running at max revs and you'll get far more pleasure riding it than putt putting about below 4000.

You're only going to 4,000 rpm? Surely you must be getting to about 40mph for your top speed?

If you want to ride a 2 stroke properly change gear just before you hit the red line (somewhere around 11,000rpm), that way you keep the exhaust clear (as stated above) and you will fly.

Go to a national speed limit after the bike is warmed up and rev it as hard as you can (don't pass the red line) and the bike will be fine.

I would also like to point out that if you ride at constant revs (ie riding at 4,000 all the time) you can cause massive problems to the engine in later life, use more of the rev range, trust me .
