The longer I leave my bike without riding it, the more difficult it is to start and the more smoke belches out of it. Usually when I ride it everyday it starts first time with only a little smoke, but yesterday I rode it after a 3week break and it took ages to start and belched out loads of smoke.

So I was wondering is there a solenoid valve to close off the fuel to the engine? If there is maybe mine doesn't close properly when I turn off the engine so fuel is flooding the engine when it is turned off and this gets worse the longer it is left. Question

possibably the fact the battery is slowly discharging and as it does it gets harder and harder to maintain/produce a nice strong spark to run the engin with!?

thus the longer its left the harder it is to start as the flatter the battery is?

just a suggestion!? could be total carp Smile

Maybe, but that wouldn't explain why the smoke is worse the longer you leave it. I was thinking the longer you leave it the more fuel leaks onto the cylinder heads so the more fuel is burnt up there when it starts.

Bikes always smoke more the longer you leave them. Both my NSR and my RF do.

as demionic said.... same with most engines I would expect ... it probably just needs a bit of time to burn of all the crap that has settled.

Can I do burnouts... hmm... Confused

Well I've never actually tried one, but I would of thought it was pretty simple.... first gear, weight over front of bike, front brake on, rev the bollocks off it...

Burnouts are easy except on 125's. I've tried everything on the NSR:)
I now have a nice square patch down the middle of my tyre on the RF though Very Happy

Crying or Very sad I don't have a clue what is wrong, and I had a few guys from work have a look and they don't know but thought it could be electrics. I guess it will cost an arm and a leg to get it picked up, taken away and fixed. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Arrgghhhh.... I knew that damn bike would be the better of me!! Evil or Very Mad
