And the house is still full of shouty people, who are looking lasciviously at the half empty cans of beer, wondering who will draw the short straw to go down to the all night Offy ... and the noise level has at least decreased to 150 dB at this time of night.

"Interesting" is one way of putting it, when describing having him in one's life. Its certainly never quiet (except for now, when the poor old dear has finally crashed out - we might get an hour or two of peace and quiet till he livens up again)

(I bought him that mug for valentines day, and he gets teased mercilessly about it, LOL)

You should just start in chatting, usually you'll find this type (us type, them type ... I dunno, LOL) are often just as easy to talk to as anybody else. I first hung about their pub wallflower stylee, looking like a straight secretary type (but with my leather jacket on) and too shy to say hello for AGES ... till a couple of them eventually acknowledged me and invited me over for a drink.
