PostPosted: 16:44 - 15 Jul 2007    Post subject: So what did you do today? Reply with quote

Well its Sunday and the end of the weekend, and am just wondering if anyones been upto anything interesting?

I'll start!

So this morning I woke up around 9am, early for a Sunday I know, but I had booked myself on a Volvo Freedom day (yes I know what your thinking but Craig's going on about Volvo's again) which is a free day to drive the 3 Volvos unaccompanied you want to. And get the chance to drive an XC90 off road, alas this was cancelled due to the off road course being well and truely flooded.

But I got my first car of the day, a Brand new Volvo V70 SE 2.5ltr D5! My god was this car big, it was immense and by far the biggest car I've driven, it had all the toys though, leather interior, Air Con, Sat Nav and the loudest stereo I've ever heard.
Felt abit weird driving something that big though, but by heck did it handle well! And it shifted too had it well above the legal speed limit without knowing it!

After 45 Mins, I decided to go back and get my next car, which was a V50 2Ltr D5 Geartronic, one with the auto gearbox. Immediatly I felt at home in this one, was much smaller and far easier to drive than the V70, and for an Auto was fast, and I've never heard a diesel sound so nice before! When you put your foot down it growled making me want to do it more! I really didn't wanna go back with this, I wanted to keep it but alas I couldn't and I wanted to get into my final car of the day, the new C30 Hatchback.

And so I went back and picked the C30 up after a bit of a wait for it to come back, but it was worth it, the one I was in was a C30 2ltr Diesel, with 140BHP, like the V50 it was lovely to drive, and handled very very well indeed, was flat round corners, and was fast too, but it didn't have the growl the D5 did. Its made me think though, and made me want to blow the 15k price tag on one, if I could afford it!

All in all a great day, and I'm already booked on the next one to drive a C70, XC70 and XC90!

So what was everyone else upto?

The V70 diesel is a stonking car, we had the auto version as a company car for a while. I've not been in many fast cars, so by comparison to what I have been in the torque from that is looovely.

Today, I've done absolutely nothing. Got up with the missus at 12, watched Police Academy 3 this afternoon, and now I'm internetting. I finally get my cast off tomorrow though, so I'm just looking forward to that. Dance!

I've done sweet fuck all.
Got woken up at 3pm by the thunder. Damn you thunder for waking me up so early. Grrr.
Since then I have just lazed around and browsed the net. What an amazing day.

I normally work Sundays, so I am making the most of NOT being at work and doing sweet F.A.
Thumbs Up

Ok Sunday...

Got up around 8:45am, had a shower, washed my hair and got changed. Then surfed the net for a while, and had a drink.

Then went down to Asda at 11, got some petrol and a french stick, some ham and some sandwich filling.

Then went round a friends at about mid day, and helped him paint his garage floor.

Got all hot and sticky after painting, so went home and had a shower. Stuck my tshirt in the dryer as i ended up riding home with just a tshirt on and it rained! (Tut tut!)

Surfed the net, checking my Karma thing (ive got tonnes of good karma, but i cannot yet rate posts!).

Spoke to a friend, who asked me if i wanted to go see the new Harry Potter film, we agreed on the time of 8pm.

He then called me an hour later and asked me if i wanted to buy his bed, coz his misses "made" him buy a king sized one.

To which i also agreed.

Im now about to get all my clothes ready, have a shave and ride round his house for about 7:30ish.

got up early I couldn't sleep as I have a cold, played my youngest daughter at Otello beat her 35-26, played my eldest daughter at Battleships lost by one vessel, played Dominos best of 3 came 2nd. Went to Tesco for some Ace Bleach for the wife, it was mental. Went to Toys-am-we bought Family Trivial Pursuits and Risk (buy-one-get-one-half-price). Played Trivial Pursuits lost, abysmally. Watched MotoGP, BTCC, BSB. Re-read the rules to Risk 15 times, still can't remember how to play Rolling Eyes

Um, woke up, washed the DR and fired it up for a while to keep the juices flowing. Kicked the SV a bit. Went in cos it pissed it down.

Stopped, dried up so checked the Vette over with my Dad, oil changed etc. Just squeaked through the MOT on emissions yesterday, apparently a hilariously over carbed, stroked 383 with no emissions gear isn't that clean Shifty

Then went for a brisk run in it. Got back, watched the Moto GP, fell asleep, woke up had dinner and now I'm here.
