It's beautiful, but I wouldn't part with £12,000 for it.

Would you prefer a 98 R1 that goes faster as you twist the throttle?

I think because of the age of the bike there is no import duty.

Paddy.

Reading the advert, the seller seems to think there is. THe only age related issue with imports I was aware of is the SVA approval that cars etc have to go through. I will gladly be proven wrong though.

I think the extra 20% is because that bike is WAY shinier than it would have been new. Stuff has been polished that was never meant to be polished. I mean, someone has even sat and snipped the nibs off the tyres ffs.

It's a shame because someone will land up with it who is going to trailer it to concourse shows. It'll never be ridden. It's a zed, it should be ridden and ridden hard. Without fulfilling its function, it is just so much scrap metal in my oppinion.

If I was a millionaire, I would be tempted to step in to the rescue and ride the arse off it.

If you have documentary proof of its age, the DVLA will issue an age related plate for it (eventually). A MSVA shouldn't be necessary.

One caught on fire the other day when it kicked back and set alight to the airbox.

The rear hub would look better bead blasted instead of polished. Wondering where the fuck he managed to fine original tires...

& for that price I expect original fasteners on the engine covers, not a mix of original (sprocket cover) & allen bolts (the rest).
