Hi there. I hope you can help me. I have a restricted licence, and need to restrict my bike. Now kits cost around £130...Mad?!?! A friend has offered me his restrictors, but will i need to get a certificate from FI international....or is that something the shop give me when they fit them. Also, are the shop likely to get arsy if i ask them to fit these restrictors without buying them from them?!

Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Regards

Richard

don't bother with a certificate. In actual fact you don't need to prove you have it, if the police suspect its not 33bhp they are going to dyno it.
But to save a lot of hassle either get the certificate or even better get a dyno print out saying its 33bhp.
There is no law that says how you can restrict your bike, you can do it whatever way you want.

If i was you though, get someone to fit your mates restrictors, and ask them if they can either dyno your bike or get a certificate as proof. If they wont just book in at a dyno and use the print out. They shouldn't be too bothered about the your mates restrictors, if they are just go else where.
