How could you possibly be limited to 45mph and go on motorways? There is no speed limit for people on restricted licenses. No idea where you got that from.

Are you not restricted to 45mph?! First I heard of that! Over here we're limited to 45mph, and have to wear R plates. I knew you don't have the R plates there, but i thought the 45mph limit was universal to the UK. Lol lucky gits over there Razz .

If we were restricted to 45mph I'd rather be on my DNA than be on a 400 going 45mph. Rolling Eyes

45mph! yea i don't think so somehow that would just cause alot of traffic to be stuck behind a motorbike and on the motorway you would have tons of people overtaking. if that was the case i would stick to my cagiva mito for the 2 years because that does 90mph restricted Laughing

Em dudes OK I understand I was wrong about england, but here in N.Ireland, we are restricted to 45mph for 2 years after our test.

No need to flog a dead donkey like, I made a mistake, so could you all stop taking the piss.

Bit strange, we are restricted to 45mph while on L plates and R plates. I thought 50cc bikes were only allowed to do 30mph until you were 17? I didn't realise the driving restrictions were so different between England and N.Ireland. bloody farce lol.

50cc bikes are supposed to be restricted to 30mph until after teh riders are 17 when they can be de-restricted.

Howeer if you see how many people on A2 licences fail to restrict big bikes it gives you an idea how many unrestricted 50 and 125's there are running around.

Ah don't spoil our fun. Wink
Do you actually have M'Ways in Ireland ? Or is that what you call a road with a white line in the middle Laughing

So is that 45 for 2 years no matter how old you are ? and how do they restrict a 33bhp to 45 mph.

Lol yes we have motorways, not a lot but a few. And the 45mph limit isn't a mechanical limiter, its a speed limit like 70. Cool
