After deciding last Monday that i fancied getting away on my days off i made some hasty plans and got my groove on to northern France.

Thursday-
Got on the ferry, met some bikers who were off touring in Germany. Was chatting to them and as they we.re staying at a campsite in Calais before heading out in the morning whilst I had nowhere in mind to stay, they invited me to join them at a campsite they know.
Got there and set up for the night, where a big shitter happened. Lost my wallet. After about two hours of shitting myself and calls to dad about the insurance, one of the girls who was with them found it under their trike.
No need to return home... Phew. Carry on boozing!

Friday-
Decide to go through the towns to the campsite, upon entering Boulogne one discovers how incredibly poorly signposted French roads are to anything but major towns or motorways.
Get on the motorway to Amiens.
Got off at the wrong junction, to Rouen. Am completely lost now. Could turn back but there's no point. Have no time frame in mind. So going forward will eventually get me where i want to be.
Go through Rouen, up to Boos. An amazing twisty mountain road. absolutely insane. Crash barriers on the outisde of corners to stop you flying down the mountain should the worst happen!

From there i find the way to the road i need to be on. Had to go through the Lyon Forest to get there. Incredible road, awesome sweeping bends and inspiring scenery.
Pulled into some little village that just appeared. Simply amazing architecture totally out of character from everywhere i'v seen so far.

Eventually got to the campsite at about 6pm. Shattered.
Set my shit up and got chatted up a group of lovely young birds who're with their mother, think they were impressed by my bike Smile

Saturday-
Time for some shopping. A few things i forgot to bring were a torch and anything to cook/eat food with.
Bought myself one of those wind up torch jobbys and a campingaz stove. Money well spent!
Oh, and BOOOOOOOOOOZE!
Had my first supreme cuisine of the trip

Tried my hand at a bit of green laining. Fun and very interesting on touring tyres I can tell you.

Monday-
Went for a ride to get a bit lost.
Went to Chateau Pierrefonds.
This is my favourite picture of the trip. Stunning place.

The whole way, signs say watch for dear crossing the road.
You're fucked if you hit them at whatever speed. So I take it upon myself to form the idea that I might aswell go as fast as possible. That way, should I hit one then i might just end up going straight through it Very Happy

On the way back, I got in a "race" with some Audi driving twat who was right up my arse. When he tried to overtake me i played the drop a cog roll on card. 80-130 in one fell swoop.
Stupid speed twisty roads is for Safh East Winnah's.

Few other random pics from my time there-

In summary, I had a fantastic time. It was such an amazing experience for such a considerably short time. I will deffinately do it again. Would recommend it to anyone. Riding there is not difficult at all.
This was fantastic, Words really can't express it entirely.

For anyone considering it, please do, it's just awesome.

Nice one, sounds good. Guess that you have got more photos so will have to come and see them at some point.

Other than the wallet did you have any problems?

Damn shame I didn't have a bigger bike otherwise I would have joined you.

Shame about Martyn. lol.

Looks cool, if you think northern france is cool, wait till you go further south, and into the alps, truly insane roads.

I put the GB stickers on, and then a little welsh flag to appease my conscience. Rolling Eyes
