As some of you already know, my Fazer was written off a while back when Mr Numpty knocked it over.
When insurance money comes, I was planning to buy another Fazer off a friend of mine for £1200. I've ridden friends' sportsbikes though and I'm tempted...initially I couldn't get on with them at all. Horrendously uncomfortable. I've had the SV650 for a few days now though and I'm getting used to it, and the riding position is more extreme than the R6 imo. Tried an '05 R6 lastnight and it was awesome...so much power and instant punch you could never use it all up, handles so well I kept oversteering and totally comfortable at speed.
I did have pins and needles in my right wrist in no time at all, but I had the same with the SV650 initially - and my back hurt after riding the SV, R6 and TLR (which I didn't like much) for several hours yesterday.
Is this something that goes away with time? When I sit on a Fazer now it feels like a Harley, it's almost like the SV is a step up despite its 70bhp. The Fazer isn't aerodynamic at all, it gets blasted about horrendously at speed and so do I. It's not a fun experience going fast on a Fazer. Can cruise on the SV and R6 over 100 quite comfortably however. Or is it possible to rectify this on the Fazer with a full fairing and double bubble screen etc, sort of turn it into a semi-sportsbike?
The bike is also my only transport though, I use it for commuting and for any long distance journeys too. I'd like to go touring when I have the cash. Plus I use a tank bag, which doesn't seem overly practical on an R6.
Any advice would be much appreciated - and what could I get for £1500?
