Well I have no pictures at the moment and mine probably aren't exciting as yours but my favorite roads consist of a road known as Epping New Road and many of the roads surrounding it, simply because it has some absolutely amazing 'twisties' as well as long straights allowing for gob-smackingly high speeds (below the speed limit of course Mr. officer... ). ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

The legendary A507 Baldock to Buntingford. One of the most popular biking roads in these parts.
I tend go on a longer version, but I don't know where it comes out. Near a Cafe on the A10 if anyone knows where I mean. ____________________ My Flickr |

The A970 on Shetland is the most absolutely awesome road I have ever ridden on. 80 miles of pristine, billiard table smooth tarmac better than many racetracks. No overbanding, no potholes, very little traffic. There are sweeping corners, there are odd hairpins and there are some goddamned enormous straights.
You could ride any motorcycle to it's full potential on that road (I include stuff like 'busas, you'd get one flat-out on Tingwall straight given that you can come round the last corner onto it at over 120). There are no hedges, trees, walls or anything like that at the side of the road. In some places forward visabitlity is up to five miles and you can see NO CARS!
Here's the google satellite at the northernmost extent of the hi-res photos (goes another 20 miles or so beyond here). Follow it to the right and keep on it. When you get to Lerwick, keep going beyond the town 'till you get to the airport. The traffic shown in the pictures is if anything, a bit busy.

I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

A370 to Weston Super Mare. Love it. You come away from a set of traffic lights, really wind it on, and you can take about 4 or 5 miles at 120+. It's so bloody wide there could be a lorry in front of you and a lorry coming the other way and you could fit another lorry in the middle. One of my favourite biking moments was coming up behind a Porsche 911, he drew out to overtake a car and gave it the beans. I overtook him as he went past the other car. Pure bliss.
The only downside is 1 speed camera, and the fact that it's not long enough.
One of my favourite rides was hair arsing down there with Jon B, I hope he enjoyed it as much as me. |

In no particular order :
- A470 Merthyr to Brecon (and beyond) because of the sweeping curves and the country landscape.
- The Brecon to Pontardawe road because of a mixture of country NSL roads, and a few KD possibilities on the roundabouts.
- A48 from Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff, past Cowbridge, Bridgend, then on to Pyle and/or, Porthcawl or Port Talbot etc
- The country road(s) that run from the A40 at Cheltenham, then down thru Birdwood, Staunton, and eventually thru to Monmouth.
The Cheltenham to Monmouth run was actually one of my main inspirations for going thru the DAS ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I concur with my learned friend, it's an amazing road. In fact, all the roads on Shetland are amazing. They are superbly maintained and I doubt there is a piece of tarmac older than 10 years on the islands. |
