Did that years ago with my CBR600 when BP first introduced the Ultimate range. All the pumps had a pale blue tag on them with the Ultimate logo and I got at least a couple of litres of Ultimate diesel in the tank before I realised. I topped it off with unleaded and rode the bugger.

Loads of smoke and stank like a Transit, but no apparent ill effects. Lucky I only had about 20% diesel otherwise I would have had to drain it too.

Your taking your car test before your bike test.

You ride an RS-125 and drive a Seat Ibiza.

My old man did it, and i had to push the bike home for 3 miles cos the bastard pushed it for 1 mile uphill! I wasn't bothered finding the fuel drain tap so syphoned it out instead. Not FUN at all!

It must be such a kick while you're down to have to walk into the shop and pay for the wrong fuel.

I have never put diesel in a bike before but i have put the 2 stroke oil in the petrol tank on my old moped.

I know some scooters you do this anyway, but mine had seperate tanks. Obviously it had no effect on it what so ever...but i didn't know what it could or could not do so i was paranoid about it breaking down.

I once ran out of fuel near alnwick (sp) and this weirdo in a van pulled up and asked me if i was alright, said he had some fuel i could 'have' (thats when i thought hmm...he either wants my bum or he is really nice bloke). Anyway, it had 2 stroke oil in it (he said it did) but my bike is a 4t, it smoked a bit but ran alright Smile

i haven't ever put the wrong fuel in my bike or car, but i'm always very carefull when choosing the pump, i'm terrified ov putting the wrong one in. it was either Tommy Cannon or Bobby Ball (i can't remember which), a few years ago, put diesel in his petrol car, didn't get too far, completely knackered it. Laughing

its not too bad putting diesel in to a petrol engine but the other way round is very bad news as it can slag the engine as petrol burns much hotter than diesel

I put some in my 100. I had been out practising for my test at a nearby industrial estate and had run out, but luckily the nearest garage was only half a mile away, and downhill. I was so narked at myself for running out, I didn't pay attention to what pump I was using, and had half filled it before I realised. At least it was easy to pull the fuel line off and empty it down a drain.

Haven't done it since.

Wow! You can read? Laughing

On a serious note, I'm taking my car test before my bike test because I live in England and the weather is crap here so it's purely just logical for me to have a car for those rainy days (pretty much everyday) I chose a Seat Ibiza because they are the product of German engineering (A Volkswagen with a different badge, therefore guaranteed reliability in my eyes). Secondly I have no idea why you think it's a mistake I own an Aprilia RS125, I've heard only good things about them from much more experienced riders... Cool
