Honda NSR oil query?

I have been using Motul 710 fully synthetic in my Honda NSR 125.
My oil light is now on and I thought I'd try a local garage.
I explained the cirumstances to the guy, who said he only sold Silkolene, so asked for whatever Silkolene fully synthetic oil I could use in my NSR.
No problem says the guy, and hands me a litre bottle of

Silkolene Comp 2 Injector

for £7.45, which I thought was very cheap compared to what I'd been paying for the Motul.

Anyway, a quick check on 'tinternet, and I find it's a bloody semi-synth!
So, advice chaps please. Would it be ok to use this as a one off, or is it going to fuck my engine?
I don't want to go to the hassle of taking back to the garage if I don't have to (closed Sunday, need the bike for work, etc).

Any thoughts much appreciated,

Personaly, I'd take it back and explain what happened - that the guy said it was ok to use, but you checked and it aint. They'll be embarrased into giving you a refund. If you found the NSR runs good with Motul, stick with it. Not sure if you realy need to use fully synth in the first place, but if you can afford it, ( I can't) then use it.

I think it's thicker than fully synthetic. So it won't be pissing out of holes like if you did the other way round.

I think when they're mixed they can go gunky though. Full and semi synthetic.

Don't quote me on it however, personally i'd just bang it in. Thumbs Up

Put it in it'll be sound, never causes me problems when I have to switch due to lack of funds. I do it atleast once every couple of months and its running sweet as a nut

Comp2 Injector would be absolutely fine for your NSR, however I would advise against mixing semi and fully synthetic. Drain the Motul out and replace it with the Silkolene.

I've been running my nsr on semi synth ever since I got it and the engine is in a very good condition.

Don't believe the hype on fully synth Wink

I know it is needed in bikes such as scooters that use fuel injection, but as I'm sure you know the nsr has a carb.
