Oh yeah!! I ddn't think slipstreaming would increase the top speed that much. It's only eliminating some drag and wind resitance, not increasing the power of the bike

Bikes do suffer significantly from wind resisitance....(Sports bikes have an aerodynamic coefficient similar to your average car (ie fiesta or something)) so when you take of a considerable deccelerating force they can gain quite a few mph, especiall something like the NSR that's gonna be using a lot of it's hp to overcome the wind resistance at that speed.

Bikes have bloody awful drag coefficients, and I disagree with G and suspect that even the best bikes are probably worse than even a normal modern commuter car.

The speed record for a bicycle is something stupid, well over 100mph on the flat, done by slipstreaming a car with a large windbreak on it. If you can get that out of a vehicle with 1 person power, then getting more out of a bike isnt that much of a problem. Biggest problem would be gearing, as you are likely to be so far peak power, the power is dropping off very rapidly (oh, and the other problem is if the one you are following touches the brakes Shocked )

All the best

Keith

You trust them enough to be in the same county, let alone close enough to slipstream them Wink

Mind you, the XR3i is probably a 1.1 with a heavy stereo system, so he is more likely to try and slipstream you to improve his top speed

All the best

LOL Keith... Ummm ok..... there would need to be a section of hosepipe leading from the exhaust to the drivers cabin so that the fumes weren't breathed in by Demonic on his bike...

BTW Demonic... you had any ideas on how your RF is gonna catch up with the double decker bus before you can slipstream yet??? Laughing

I suggest a grapple hook as it goes past....LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing
