It wouldn't place any strain on the server.

Embedding youtube videos specifically isn't disallowed, all html is disallowed. This is because allowing it would open the site to abuse - it can be used to embed malicious stuff in pages.

While it is convenient to have youtube vids embedded in web pages, I also find it can slow the page down a fair bit if your PC isn't running in tip-top condition.
