I would say that if Schuberth lids don't fit your head then it's no good getting one, and just get one that fits well (eg another AGV) and invest in some earplugs if you're worried about hearing damage.
Not used a Schuberth myself so I can't comment on that. ____________________ My bike: Suzuki Bandit 600 (33bhp)

Schuberth helmets are good but expensive.
Also try before you buy.
My head shape didn't fit the flip-up C1 when they were being sold off cheap (couldn't close ok). However, since tried a C2 and that felt ok.
If you can get one at the right price then go for it. Alternative is if BMW are selling off any of theirs as they are mode by Schuberth.
Another alternative is to use moulded earplugs with existing lid.
Places do them or I think there's a DIY kit on the market.
Just done a quick google - diy plugs site is https://www.diycustomplugs.co.uk/.
IMO might be worth trying the custom diy plugs first. At £14 inc. postage its got to be cheaper than replacing a helmet. Plus you've always got them so would make a quiet helmet even better

Yeah deffo ear plugs tbh, my helmet is great but it is loud so a set of ear plugs do the trick. ____________________ Current: 2019 Yamaha T7 -> 2015 KTM Superduke R | 2000 Yamaha R1 Past -> 2009 KTM 990 SM -> 2005 kawasaki ZX10r -> 2000 Honda CBR 600 FY -> 2002 Honda XLV 125 Varadero

why not buy a shoei and buy the £14 whisper strip which is like that helmet skirt you buy from busters which works but constantly falls off the bottom of the helmet, it integrates so it sort of seals the bottom of your lid to your neck, add in ear plugs and its fairly quiet , though your visor steams up, ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I believe Scuberth lid came out tops in a RIDE recommended test at the end of 2006. I have the mag somewhere.
As already mentioned though, it still wouldn't do you much good unless you happen to have a Schuberth shaped head.
A properly fitting lid combined with earplugs would be the way to go if you're worried. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Don't forget that Michael Schumacher used to wear them too, so I would say that they are probably up there with the best. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

I have a schuberth C2 and extremely happy with it. I have owned/tried shoei, xlite, and Caberg. I found the Caberg the noisiest lid.
I find that the Schuberth is the most comfortable, and the field of view
available from the visor is noticeably better than the other helmets that I have tried.
Most importantly for me was how quiet I found it.. ____________________ BMW R1200GS & Honda Fireblade 929RR

My Schuberth J1 open face helmet is quieter than my full face Arai SV. 'Nuff said. ____________________ My other bike's a Monster... |
