I'm hoping to buy my first bike within the month. My brother owns a CB500 and we've both decided that once i get my bike we're going on a B-Road trip around the Lake District.

Can anybody suggest a good route to take through the Lakes? I know it might sound like a daft question but i was hoping somebody on this forum might know a good ride up there....cos i don't!!!

Cheers

Ben

I've just come home after a quick blast from London to Edinburgh over the weekend, and while I didn't jump into the Lake District itself, I skirted it on the A6 route between Morecambe and Carlisle - plenty of fun to be had around that area, beatiful scenery and awesome roads. Lots of bikes out and about, although quite a few roadside shrines and 'Lots of people died here' signs too!

As your home location looks to be within a few miles of me give this a try:

Theres a link to google maps route on there. Its about 200 miles so its a comfortable ride in a day (I set of at 8am and was home for 3pm)
