hi all,
i have a fully de-restricted( restricted if any of u r coppers, lol ),NSR125 R 1999 model,my query is that it does 93mph at 10,150rpm,does this sound right or should it be able to get me up to 11,000 rpm and nearing 100mph,this is in 6th gear as 5th only gets me up to 80mph,also in any other gear it will only achieve 10,500,obviously i dont want it any higher, but just wondering why it won't red line,if anyone has a cdi restriction, how man revs does it resrict at?if anybody has any idea's please reply,as i am puzzled,

Matt

Yeh thats fine!
After 9'500 rpm the nsr's engine dramatically drops power wise.
So getting it to 10 is fine, and normal.

If you really want to redline your bike i suggest riding flat out in 3rd
and then droping into 2nd, this will garantee you'll get 13'000...

Muhahaha!! Twisted Evil

Of course i would try this, but i'm sure it will work!!

well i'm just going on a dyno grapth of an NSR i saw on a site.
You can take it to whatever amount of rev's you like, but the higher you go power does fade of.
I change at 10'000 myself if trying to get the thing to go faster.
but i mean i'm usually in the 4-5000 zone.
Which i know is incredibly slow and the thing hardly moves. but the bike seems comfortable with it.

I dont find the fuel consumption too bad,at a constant 8000 revs about 90 miles to a tank full and about 120 miles at about 5500 revs
