Was home for a late lunch and caught the news conf on this on news 24.

Utterly bigoted journos - 'was he a hell's angel?' 'is it gang related?' 'what about the shooting in 2001?' 'was he speeding, as his bike carried on sliding?' Rolling Eyes Mad

Thought the copper did well to ignore their loaded questions.

They have their angle on this story, and a hard-working, respectable guy being murdered isn't it.

They want gang-related feuds, speeding, drug trafficking and organised 'hits'. Bunch of cunts. Thumbs Down

Turns out the guy was Canadian, living in the UK....

That link would also appear to end any drug, gang, HA, etc. connection/violence. Just makes it a senseless murder then Mad
The BBC wrote:
...Det Supt Lawrence said Mr Tobin, who was in a stable relationship and worked as a mechanic, was "hard-working" and "a man of good character".

He added Mr Tobin was a Canadian who had lived in the UK for the last 10 years and did not know if he had been affiliated to the Hells Angels.

Det Supt Lawrence said Mr Tobin had not come to the attention of the police before and there was nothing in his past to indicate why anyone would want to murder him. ...

Gerry was lovely Crying or Very sad

I barely knew him, only to say hello to ... but he always greeted me with a smile and a hug when I went into the clubhouse for parties or Open Nights. One time I remember him asking me teasingly whether my daughter was with me, as he had noticed her dazzling beauty when we had been at a party there the month before. Bless.

The picture in The Sun made me sick, physically.

everything in the sun about it today was sick. despite their best efforts, they had to report that he was just an ordinary guy with no apparent connections.

didnt stop them printing a two page spread in the centre pages on how evil the angels are, with pictures of gun toting angels that are known to be 30-40 years out of date. Rolling Eyes

According to it, this was all about colours.
Its to do with a rival gang trying to take over the hells angels. The guy who was shot was a hells angel.

You are running way behind.

He might have been targetted because he was wearing colours or he might have been mistaken for someone else or something entirly different.

The Suns "reporting" was at a lower standard than we would normally accept, even from them.

The Tabloid press will sensationalise this incident in order to sell their paper. Sadly, the facts are never a consideration when It comes to a good bit of gutter press.

The Facts of Gerry's death are scant and unclear and it is unfair on Gerry's friends to speculate on the circumstances surrounding his death. I do know that the HA have lost one of their most valued and loved members and they are grieving right now. Please allow them the dignity of doing so in peace and free from rumours and gossip.

Cheers.
