As the fairings are all quite badly scorched on my project scoot, I'm considering respraying it - My girlfriend says she'll help me (she's an artist). We're thinking of painting the metalwork and most of the frame gloss black and adding yellow highlights here and there. Grips black/yellow (maybe just get some of that police tape stuff and wrap it round). Want it to look kind of survival-style and a bit tatty but not too much.

Ideas? Will this be ghey or not? (As it is only a scooter.) We're just going to use it for the daily runaround, as it's not really cost-effective using the van and we miss having a bike.

Why not? The winner of 'best paint' at this years Rock and Blues was a scooter, one of those fucking hideous italian things (Vespa or whatever) but that fact didn't make the paint any less cool.

Don't knock them until you've tried them - I've been on the back of one in France and it was stupidly fast for a moped! Think it was a 400 or something. Very Happy

Thanks for your support anyway - I wouldn't normally dream of painting a scooter, especially a little 50, but this one is quite close to my heart as I'm fixing it up from basically a wreck.

So nowt wrong with painting a scooter, but as said above, don't be half hearted about it.

Thumbs Up
