Missus 'n' me are talking about going to Intermot Cologne (Oct 8-12) next year and staying stay 3-5 days somewhere near the venue. Has anybody been there in previous years? I'm getting lots of stuff online but nothing like people's personal experiences regards best 'n' nearest places to stay. Any good bike shops around Cologne?

Not going on bike. Planes, trains and automobiles will do nicely for this outing.
