bandit 6 fuel problem???????????????

Dudes!! The slight problem i have is that when i fill the tank up the bike feels and rides like a sack of shit. Sounds really raspy and not smooth at all. The further down the tank the smoother it gets and it rides like it should do.
I have made sure that the breather pipe is clear and i think it is. Any ideas anyone????

dirt? Maybe there is dirt in the tank and when you fill up it mixes up with the new fuel an goes thru to the engine, the lower down the more settled the fuel gets and the dirt sits at the bottom of the tank.
Have you replaced the fuel filter?
As this would indicate if there is a lot of dirt in the tank.
Also have you tried a different brand of fuel ie shell or caltex etc (in sa so not sure of your brands over there)
