The spark plug could very well be something to do with it. It doesn't cost much - you may as well change it, as the condition of the plug is very important on small 2-strokes.

What exactly do you mean by a 'flat spot'? If it's your first scooter, are you sure you're not just used to having gears? A scooter is meant to rev up to a certain RPM and then stay at that RPM whilst the speed increases - it's the way the transmission works.

If you got an indicated 52 out of it (which, by the way, willl probably be more like 40 at the most - speedo's lie) then I'd say there was nothing at all wrong with it.

if you get 52 on a "moped", my guess is that it is de-restricted. lol.

and fix that exhaust. I had a dint in my oil manifold, led to my piston going and then piston rings in the exhaust ruining my exhaust too. dints in the tank, exhaust or other places aren't good. lol

Yer, the piston ring exploded basically and when we took the exhaust off...a piece of a piston ring emerged as if by magic.

lol. It was quite..weird but..yer, fun.

WHAT! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Oh for the love of god, get the plug sorted they don't last long. You need someone who what they are doing. If you can't change a plug a 5 min job you will struggle with changing a jet and rollers.

after a few miles, take the plug out and check the electrodes are a nice light brown colour, this will let you know all is well.
