just wondered, now I've rebuilt the GPZ brakes (ie new caliper old one was fooked) it had its mot and is putting down 90 kilos of braking force at the front and 65 from the back.

anyone know what there bike puts down and could you tell me what calipers you hae out of interest.

thanks

my brake pads are fine.

I was just interested in how the gpz now its brakes are as good as they're going to get without $$$ compares

GPZ brakes are pretty poor compared to more modern equipment. They do an adequate job but I was always wanting for a bit more power, would have liked to have tried the twin disc model.

Ride something a bit more modern and you will see what I mean, preferably with twin discs. Braking heavily when riding spiritedly or from high speed found me wanting for a little bit more bite. They are more than up to the job at hand though.

Don't use HH pads on the GPZ, braking difference is negligible and they wear the discs more. Sorry I can't offer any fact's, just opinion via my limited experience. Smile

I'm not sure these figures mean much?

From what I saw it was partly dependant on traction, but didn't seem to be an especially sticky surface - so a sticky from cold tyre would presumably give a better reading.

For instance I had to apply the brakes on the crm (knobblies) pretty progressively to get a decent figure without it locking.

I didn't ask if your pads are ok I asked what heat they are rated for. GG is a heat rating and the lowest.

My ER-5 was over 100 on the front and about 95 on the rear.
