First off, I don't want all the "faster, it's illegal/void insurance/blow your engine" stuff. Wink Laughing

The point is, my bike is now well and truly worn in after the new piston rebuild but is slow.

It has I believe Carbon reeds, but that it for "go faster" mods. Not getting above 60 in comfort with this old girl is depriving us both of red line fun I know it has some pinholes in the down pipe, and a flat spot at the start of the power band but what can I really do to make it go faster, think it's all virtually "stock".

G reg '90 NS125R-K.

Please help me. Thumbs Up Cool

just buy a bigger bike! , bradford has 94 CBR for £600 , a 94 CBR will utterly waste an NSR

It's an NS to be anal. Wink

I don't have the space, cash or license for anything bigger right now, I sooooo wish I did.

Don't get me wrong, I love it to bit's and know people who'd buy it ASAP, but I don't have the means.

Hi

And I think the speedo on those over reads. Know people who managed an indicated 80+ on a stock restricted one (which in reality would struggle to get past a true 70).

The Micron exhaust is not bad. Stock derestricted exhaust was very good.

Stock airbox was restrictive. Normal trick was to drill holes in the lid (and jet to suit).

There was a big bore kit available for it. Similarly I think there is a larger carb kit sold by Malossi.

All the best

Keith

Mine would indicate just over 80mph restricted, that was with 37k on the clock.

K&N filter works fine with the NS but not the NSR. From what i've read the exhaust is a bitch to derestrict so you'll want a micron or similar. after that and upjetting is should be good for an indicated 90mph

Hi

Somewhere I have a PB article from about 15 years ago on tuning the NS125. Think that mentioned the jetting. Will see if I can find it.

All the best

I'm a member of 125cc sportsbikes and to be fair, I post more info than some of them know on the NS model of bike. PM'd Alains a few month back and he can't help with the NS, only NSR.

Thanks Keith, appreciate it.

Don't know until payday when I get a K&N air filter and check my Zorst and see about any restrictors.

You mentioned a flat spot before the power band,
does it have a standard power band or the legendary red one?
