Ive been offered a Suzuki GS500 1997 for £500 its been down the road but the guy selling it is a bike mechanic, he's rebuilding the brakes, replacing the front disc and putting an mot on it.
I know its not going to break any landspeed records but its got to be better than my trusty old superdream
question is: is the price about right?
anything to watch out for on these?

cheers Mike

Seems a bit high for a crashed GS500E mate. Is it a write off?

I'm selling my 1995 for £300ish and all that's wrong with that is the fuel tank needs repairing and one of the rear light bulb holders has melted.

its not a write off just a bit scrapped down one side purely cosmetic, but enough for the wife to say "you bought that?"

I bought the GPZ about a year ago for £400 cash, with nothing wrong with it... except very little tax & MOT left.
I did nothing with it, and it still managed to fly thru the MOT a few weeks later.

So IMO £500 with some damage (even with an MOT) is probably a little too much

yep gs500's arnt worth a hell of a lot, when i bought mine it was £600 it was perfect but i paid over the odds for it,
whats the damage?? scrapes on the frame, tank, plastics??
take in to account the price to replace those bits and the work involved with sanding down and repainting the scrap on frame(if any)
if you need any advice reguarding the faithful gs
