Hi All,

Currently on my '98 Fazer 600 the rear tyre has nearly past it's best (slightly squared and slick on a couple of patches) and currently run Bridgestone BT020's Front and Rear.

Now i know the BT021 are now about and by reading up on them, have a better design and last a little longer, probably due to it's dual compound etc ...

Anyway, basically i cannot afford a new set of BT021's, plus the front has alot of life left in it.

Does anyone know if mixing a BT020 Front and a BT021 Rear would be ok?

I would presume so, plus a few people have said, so just wondering what's people thoughts and knowledge are on here for a few more opinions.

Thanks a lot,

Luke.

I've got the reverse configuration and it's just fine. Thumbs Up

Would be fine, though 020's are still available for a bit cheaper than an 021 if you're a bit strapped for cash.

I think it was Wave2k who said he has an 014 front and 020 rear since he was wearing out the rear too quick but still wanted excellent front wheel grip.

That should be fine. In the past I've had a 010 front and 020 rear for longer life on the rear and more grip on the front. Similarly I have had a supercorsa front and 010 rear, etc.

It's definitely worth seeing what you can find part-worn if your strapped for cash.
Doesn't have to be race scrubs; plenty of people get a whole new set when they don't need both replacing or from people breaking bikes etc.

I had a BT45 Front and an 020 Rear for a while when my Rear BT45 wore out and i had loads of life left on the front, it worked fine, even with the front being a cross ply and the rear being radial.

good choice on the 021's Great tyres they are, and i dont think you will have any problems mixing the two.

Stormer: From what i see the 020's that are still selling are marginally cheaper than the 021's, talking like 5-20 quid here on a pair, might as well spend that tiny bit extra and get the excellent 021's IMHO...
