Both my tyres were below 25 psi Laughing

I knew they were out because it's obvious when I was riding. Much too low for road use and for trackdays as well really as I run 30 for those. Must check more often.

On the plus side, at least I could tell they needed doing, but then again, who can't?

I have just checked mine, both were at least 6psi below recommended. Handles a lot better now properly inflated. I usually check them once a week, but have got out of the habit as I have been off the road for 3 months

I'd been riding the Blade for god knows how long with 20psi in both tyres, because I was testing them by checking they were still firm Rolling Eyes Obviously deflated over the winter lay-up, so didn't notice the change in handling as much. Should invest in a pressure gauge really, was ridiculous the difference it made when I put them back to the correct pressure.

pffft, wheeled the NC out, 11psi front, 15psi back. A real winning combination.

Went to a garage to do mine today.... I'm wary of the pumps being inaccurate, so took my own pressure gauge...

Set the pump to 29psi to do the front... ok, done... *checK* wtf, 31psi? Then the machien stopped... *insert another 20p*

Tryed to get the hose on the back tyre, but it wouldnt go, not enough room to maneuver the airline fucking thing... Going to Machine Mart tomorrow to get a nice footpump..

For some reason my pressures currently are;
Front ~ 31psi
Rear ~ 27 PSI

They're meant to be
Front ~ 29psi
Rear ~ 31psi
Rolling Eyes

What kind of evil garage do you go to, to have to pay for air?!

London garages are utter rip-offs, but every single one in my area has free air and water!

Got my bike in October 06 and never checked tyres except for 2 week ago I put about 5 seconds worth of air in the front(back remains untouched), at the ASDA tyre pump, then 3 days later let some out as the bike was trying to fall on it's side round corners, now it's spot on. Should check and adjust really.

My front tyre was leaking until wednesday, then sanded the oxidized metal from the inside of the times Embarassed

I think the back needs doing aswell because I've just seen it is visibly flat.

probably because many of the owners/staff don't want to be stabbed to death/murdered for the sake of having to give 20p out in change to pay for air/water.

Hi All,

Do the recommended tyre pressures given in a bike's manual apply for any tyre that fits on the factory standard wheel, or are you supposed to be looking for the tyre manufacturers recommended pressure for the tyres that you have fitted ?

Thanks.

Tyres should be checked weekly as a minimum(along with chain lights etc.). An under inflated tyre will give bad handling and also wear out quicker as it overheats with it flexing more.
