i need to start deciding which 400 to buy. i quite like the zxr400 but i have been hearing bad things about the rear suspention and that theres no power below 10,000rpm.
please give ur opnions on any of the other 400's above.

i think the VFR will be a bit cramped for you, personally i'd get the CBR.

The ZXR offers the best top end of about 145mph, but I think that the CBR and RVF give more low-down power. Since you're 6'1", then I advise that you seek out all of these bikes, and actually sit on them...All of the 400s will feel cramped to you, but Stew rides a VFR, and Craig's got a CBR (they're both lanky f*ckers Very Happy), so they must feel ok them...

I would personally recommend a V4 (RVF/VFR), or perhaps a ZXR for loonacy...

Zak, there's practically no diff in size!!

Go for the ZXR4. Faster and bigger than the rest. The ZZR's are nice and comfy but not too fast (about the same as my RF) but you can go a lot further without feeling shite.

It's not just about the physical dimensions, Dean (Rolling Eyes), but about the shape of the tank, positioning of the clip-ons, angle of the footrests etc...also, the CBR seat is wider, but the bike itself seems a little lower...

The RVF/VFR riding position is more extreme than the CBR...

The ZZR should around 120/130, which should be plenty for a 400...

About 130-135mph on the ZZR. 58hp but heavier than the VFR etc. I woulda had one but the guy sold it while I was on hol. Should be able to pick on up for £1k-1.5k

hmm...how did I know that was coming? Smile

A derestricted NSR will be able to beat most cars from a standstill, so a bigger bike will almost certainly be able to...

Any 400 will leave any road going sports car standing. With the exception of ones that most people can't afford anyway!! Laughing

HopOff: Have you considered the Suzuki SV650(s)?...they might be suited to taller peeps, and offer similar performance to sports 400s in the form of a V-twin 650...

<edit> The SV is also is a lower insurance group than most/all sports 400s, and the unfaired version is one group lower still...but they still fairly new, so the premium may be higher anyway Confused

yeah i researched the SV but due to them still being new the insurance difference is negligable.

0-60 : 3.2 secs
... kinda ironic that the fastest car they do uses a bike engine... and accelerates slower than the bike Smile
