OK, I'm thinking of popping up to the lake district this week on the 50, and sleeping in a field somewhere overnight.

Here is what I think I will be taking:

My leathers (2 piece, wearing both days of riding)
Gas camping stove + Gas cylinder
2 Mess tins
Small bar of soap
Tent
Sleeping bag
Sleeping mat
Lightweight camo trousers and a t-shirt for walking around in.
Spare socks
Pasta
Bacon
Bread
Map
Torch
Firesteel
Knife

Is that all I need, or is there any other equipment I need?

Cheers
Mark

is all you`ll need for 2 days, 1 night.
you`d be better finding a cafe/greasey spoon for hot food.
Be warey of camping in a farmers field without permission, as it could be construed as trespass in the UK, whereas in scotland you can camp just about anywhere, you might like to consider leaving the camping gear at home and staying in a B&B, YHA hostel or camping barn https://www.yha.org.uk/index.aspx there must be plenty of em around the area

Yup as above. Though cooking your own breakfast in a field is certainly quite enjoyable, so I can see why you might want to take your own cooking gear and food with you. All you need is a stove, frying pan and a knife.

Ride up there in combats and your leather jacket, and you wont need to take a change of clothes. Plenty of people go camping at rallies with nothing more than a tent, sleeping bag, and their wallet.
