Oil change

Hi there, i am going to preform an oil change next week. I saw this product on ebay.

Would this work for a 2 stroke bike?
Do i need to add something like this when changing the oil?
Should i also change the oil filter?

I have seem some SAE 30 oil (which my handbook recommends) but it says its for lawnmower engines. Should i find one specifically for a bike.

You don't want to use any additives, particularly seeing as that is an additive designed for a 4 stroke car engine - it basically thins the oil a bit to dissolve any accumulated sludge, and hold it in suspension until the oil is drained.

Your gearbox shouldn't have any sludge in, won't be hot enough to get that additive working, and you don't want anything that thins the oil out.

As for oil choice, don't use lawnmower oil. If you want to be flash use something like Silkolene light gearbox oil, otherwise use a multigrade engine oil. If I was buying, I'd get 20W50 in there, but whatever engine oil you have lying around the garage will do.

No dont use a flush its not needed... and on a RS125 theres no oil filter as its not actually engine oil its gearbox oil. There is only a magnet on the sump bolt which collects the metal particles.

Use a synthetic EP80 light oil, dont use hypoid as its too thick and will cause massive clutch drag.

Belray gearsaver 80 is fantastic stuff if you can find it.

Silkolene light gear oil is the best for stroker gearboxes. Great stuff-30k trouble free miles on my MZ301.
