If you were throwing your bike down a straight b road and just happened to pass not one but two police cars with a support unit lorry in the middle going the opposite way, is there much chance they can do anything about it?

Assuming of course that no eye contact was made by means of looking the other way temporarily and no attempt made to either slow down or the police vehicles to turn around.

Just wondering

Don't quite understand....but have narrowed it down to two possibilities:

1. You foolishly dropped your bike on a staright road and the police didn't stop. In which case they are just being bastards.

2. You were substantially exceeding the speed limit, and again the ploice didn't stop/do anthing. In which case, what can they do? Unless they managed to take your plate and decide to come and get you later, which I doubt.

Situation 2 reminds me of when I was driving the cage, and went for an overtake on a nice straight single carraigeway A road. There was a car coming in the opposite direction, but there was loads of room. Well, until the car I was passing decided he would speed up. This then resulted in us being three abreast with the oncoming car furiously flashing his lights. Helpfully that car was a police panda unit.

O how we laughed. Well we did one we were satisfied we had escaped. I have never ragged a car harder in my life than I did that day to get some distance between me and the (potentially) persuiing copper. Mr. Green

I did similar yesterday, except I was over taking a car on a road that is wide enough to over take a car with on coming traffic before any one mentions it Razz.

But yeh I dived in to my lane just in time to realise the car in the other lane was a police car.. I kept the throttle pinned and my eyes open for other police, didn't see any though.

I was sat on my bike on the way back from college doing about 40 in a 50 limit with a police car in the queue in front of me. I thought about it for a bit and then decided to overtake the police car and the other traffic.

It felt so wrong but I couldn't see anything wrong in doing it. I didn't go over 50 the whole time I was overtaking and the police car didn't go after me so I am sure it fine. Still felt wrong though

Why? You did nothing wrong. I always overtake if its legal & safe to do so, on duel carrageways you get lines of cars behind a police car scared to go past. Same as some people filter up to the back of a police car then stop behind, I just carry on past them both. Thumbs Up

When filtering I go past them, but on an open road it didn't feel right even though I knew there wasn't anything wrong with it
