Ok so I'm perusing the bikes for sale section on this site and see the CB100 Good Runner (needs repairs) posted by Tooeymaster

Now he blabs on about the good bits and bad bits

and in amongst reading i noticed

Hondas are known for their reliability*

then at the bottom

*NB im not saying this bike is reliable though or something to that effect.

Now bearing in mind he's already posted its a good runner.

How the hell can it be a good runner if he cleary states "im not saying this bike is reliable".

WTF?

Maybe hes just trying to cover his ass from this kind of stuff,

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=124411

Wasnt this the reason replies got disabled in that section? Laughing

P.S. 'Reliable' and 'Good Runner' are two totally different things, i have a bike that is a good runner but i would never dare describe it as reliable!

Ok maybe its just me, but if someone advertises a bike as a good runner i would expect it to start and idle ok and run.

And he's got;

Bike does not idle, may get stuck at around 4000rpm but then slowly drop before dying at about 1,500rpm may be the carburretta needing a clean, i really dont know. Rolling Eyes

Good runner is one that don't break down too often.

At least he has been up front with the bad bits.

If you not sure go and have a look, you can always walk away.

No matter who sells you stuff its always buyer beware.

covering his ass thats all , my NTV is considered reliable only 3 times it didn't start in the erm 2.5 years I've owned it, thus out of

914 days it has failed 3 times

= 99.996717724288840262582056892779% reliability

once was a flat battery caused by somebody jump starting using my bike

another time was a fried leccy system due to somebody trying to nick it

the other time was a buggered starter relay.

so it has 99%+ reliability
