I bought an identical cruiser for my son. It was OK to ride. Build quality was sh1t and when he didn't clean it it looked like a pile of rust in a week.

I'm not sure about chinese bikes, but then I can remember when 'Made in Japan' was a big joke and look at Japanese stuff now.

The other thing I found with my sons bike was the suppliers dissapeared (for a while, came back later) and my local honda dealer, bearing in mind its a CG copy, basically told me to shove it where the sun don't shine - wouldn't touch it as it was, in their words, an illegal copy.

Then it got knicked Thumbs Down

Quite a few people on the forum are starting to buy these and looks like hyosung are becoming a more recognised brand because of it Smile

If you have any questions/queries about the bike feel free to add me, eddy-jones@hotmail.co.ukSPAM

As above they are Korean and have been developed in partnership with Suzuki.

Supposedly not as good as the Suzuki they are still not bad, just take care of them - they like being wet even less than Suzuki's do.

There were some found to have defective swinging arms once the rust monster bit so Hyosung offered a free recall on them. Speak to adealer and find out if yours are affected.

I know someone who has kept his 125 Comet for a nu,ber of years as a run around, despite now owning a Daytona.

If they are made in partenership with Suzuki, why are the engines copies of CG125's. At least that cruiser is.

ok thanks for the good replys.

after reading some reviews on the comet i was a bit put off,as most of the replys at the reviewcentre say its rubbbish and will fall to bits like the chinese crap.i really hope not because i love the style of the bike and the size suits me nicely.(5ft11" 17stone Rolling Eyes )

well ive got it now so only time will tell.

oh and 1 more thing.im told the style of the bike is known as a streetfighter style??is that right? then if it had fairings it would be a race rep? a little confused on what is what. Rolling Eyes

thanks for the replys...

Nah its not streetfighter style, its a naked bike.

Fairings don't make a race rep, it needs to be a rep of the bikes raced to be a race rep.

For street fighters see here https://www.streetfightersmag.com/

The Comet is a -twin so I highly doubt it's a copy of the CG125. Not too sure on the cruiser but that's not a Hyosung.

I have a Comet GT250R in my garage, 06 model and I've ridden it. It's the faired version (like guvnor said, it's not race rep, just faired). I find it to be a good bike. Not as great quality as my Honda Hornet but a hell of a lot better than my Chinese piece of shit 125. It shouldn't fall to bits tbh, especially if you look after it. I've only put 1.5k miles on the 250 and I enjoy riding it, sometimes more than my Hornet Shifty

And it's not streetfighter, it's just naked. People are confusing streetfighters for just any naked bike now Rolling Eyes

The only bad thing is the tyres. IF they're the stock ones (kinda hard to tell from the picture) get them changed. The stock tyres "Shinko" don't have much grip and don't really give much confidence when cornering. Though I suspect they'd been changed already being an '03.

A good website to ask specifically on Hyosungs are www.korider.com I'm on there as the same username but rarely post on there.

Good luck with the bikes Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I know shit quality, my first bike was a Chinese ironically named "Better" 125. Never again.

im now really liking the naked bikes, they are definately the ones for me.i reckon they look cool with the round headlight Very Happy

planning on doing my d.a.s. soon so will be looking for a bike like the comet but with a bigger engine.
the comet engine looks huge but doesnt have much power in it.
it revs to 10krpm Shocked it is a 4 stroke isnt it? i cant see anywhere to put 2 stroke oil.

again thanks for the replys Very Happy

It is a 4 stroke and it's not restricted. It's a 125 so it won't be amazing. And yeah, I prefer naked bikes too. That's why I settled for a Hornet instead of a CBR. Gonna change the headlight soon though. Probably for small twin round headlights. Dominators will make my Hornet look so much sexier.

Mind you I prefer the Comet when it's faired. I'll get a few pictures of my Hornet and my friends Comet 250R later. Thumbs Up

And good on the tyres. Shinko are complete shite Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

The 250cc naked Comet is a bloody nice looking bike, I like the look of the spec too. I prefer the look of the RWU forks on your 125 though, the 250s have USD forks which look a bit odd imo.

How did you manage to get that for £500? Seems like a pretty good deal!

i dont know m8.its got me thinking now.maybe there is something wrong with it.went to fill it up this afternoon and at low revs its bogging down, gotta dip clutch back in and get the revs up a bit to make it go.absolutely fine in the higher revs.
maybe it just needs a good service.

doesnt feel right though, its like its got no torque.the little bit power it has got is only there in the high revs.

anyone local to me got one of these or know how it should go? could do with meeting up and getting someone to test mine.

sorry for the long post

It's Korean. And if they were such shite quality then I would've thought Suzuki bikes (par the newish ones) would be shit quality too considering they MADE the frames and actually specialised in the SV650.

Alas I'm not too sure what may be wrong with your bike but a service should make it fine. (I'm mechanically retarded)

Tried asking on the forum I posted earlier?

Also, I'd pop round and see it but considering I'm pretty much the opposite of the island I unfortunately cannot.
