Hi, wondering if anyone can give me the answer

I'm at my mate's and he's taken the front sprocket cover off his bandit 650s, now the pin that is pushed into the gearbox that the clutch lever mechanism slides on to has fallen out of the gearbox. Is it alright to just push it back in? He said he heard a drop when he accidently pulled it out.

The reason he took his sprocket cover off was because there is a click noise when he pushes his bike forwards, and it seemed to be coming from the front sprocket, so took the cover off for inspection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as he could really do with his bike for work in the morning. Cheers!

Please go away and stop talking rubbish.

The shaft goes through the middle of the clutch shaft and should be a one piece rod on those if iirc. Can't remember off the top of my head how they fit into the diaphram clutch but its nothing complex and obvious when you remove the clutch cover and the huge circlip.

Sorted it now, thanks for all your help. I just pushed it back in, fitted the case back on, shoved it on it's center stand, started her up, and shifted through all the gears and checked the clutch functioned correctly. Mate took it for a test ride and said it's fine so..

Yeah it just slots back in.

A mate of mine started his Bandit 600 when this rod was out once, spat oil all over the garage floor Rolling Eyes
