What about getting it welded up?
Maybe not with my bottom-of-the-range arc welder, but MTC has recommended me a place around that kinda area that's good in the past.
Anyway, MOT's ages away . |

Well, the bike has 'coerce' rearsets, which are Japanese, and you can't get them any more in the UK as far as I can tell. Oddly they have the make stamped on the hanger which I didn't even think to look at!
The bike already has a Banjo bolt brake light switch, and on ebay there are some really pretty rearsets for about £130 (inc postage) from Thailand.
G, I don't think it can easily be welded, because the prongs are both very bent. I could potentially drill a hole in the brake lever pivot and bolt a solid peg on, but then it wouldn't match the left side and I wouldn't need to go and buy shiney things.
£130 does seem a lot, but the bike was such a bargain anyway I can't really complain. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
