Hi all

Someone at work is leaving tomorrow
He is v big on eco stuff and such like

With the collection proceeds I am getting him gardening vouchers *yawn* ...and someone had the idea of getting a big box of 'fairtrade' choccies

Does anyone know where I can buy these on the high street tomorrow... quickly... as his presentation is a.m. Shocked

Yes was in the middle of doing my shopping online and i had a look for you. Fairtrade chocolate selection £3.99 185g its on offer at the min. Tesco.

Get him a big block of mouldy old chocolate from the "Clearance" basket at the front of a shop. Then print out on an A4 piece of paper "Fair Trade" in plain black writing. Take off the original wrapper off the mouldy chocolate and re-cover it in the new fair trade label.

It looks like fair trade, it tastes like fair trade. He'll never know the difference! Laughing

I think M&S are trying to get in on the "Fair Trade" thing, so there should be something there.

As has also already been said, the Co-Op are hot on fair trade stuff too.

Isn't fair trade a fucking con anyway and it just means they get 4p an hour instead of 2p?

To be honest, if they're exporting to the UK, they should be paid UK national minimum wage and be exposed to compulsory UK employment law.

That would be fair trade.

Fair trade stuff is not ECO freindly either because it has such a high carbon footprint and is more labour intensive. Yes the locals do get a better price and in real terms can make a good profit out of it. Yes they are on a lot less money we are but a loaf of bread here costs £1.05 and is aprox 1/6 th of our basic wage, a loaf of bread would cost them only 1/12th of their basic wage.
