When i tried out the gsx 600 01 plate in sweden, on the straight on the track the front would start wobbling like crazy if I accelerated too quickly... It had a streering damper, so is that still normal?

When you accelerate, the front end becomes alot lighter. Meaning it will wobble more. So yeh its normal.

My race bike wobbles on the straights quite a bit even with the steering damper turned up moderately.

Caused by geometry and suspension setup. This unsteadiness is usually resulting from making the bike quicker steering.

I didn't buy it. It's my friend's bike and we went for a week to a track.

Awesome track.
I was riding his gsx and he was riding his newly bought Ducati 916, which I found to be a highly uncomfortable bike. Very tiring, and I almost had to fall into corners. The gixxer rode like a dream apart from this point. Oh, and I almost highsided it

Another cause of wobbling on hard acceleration, is accidentally pulling back on one bar harder than the other.

This is solved by leaning forward over the bike, letting the arms go loose, and keeping forearms parallel to the road so when you acceleratem you dont pull back on the bars.
