Either try a google search or buy autotrader or some of the bike mags which will have lots of Co's offerning ins.
Start with one then go round the lot, bet it will get cheaper each time as they try to beat each other. Or they will say sorry no can do.

You are going to be a bit stuffed as you have had a claim... And do not miss out that bit of info either, as they will find out.....

No one co is going to be cheaper for everybody, its down to you to do some leg work for the cheapest quote.
Also be carefull, the cheapest may not be the best deal.....

When I got my first, and current bike - Aprilia RS50, it's all about searching, noone else can comment, as you are the one needing to get the quote.

I just googled it, as mentioned. Using a search engine is the best way.

However, when I was doing my quotes, I definately noticed outrageous companies, Id be happy to tell you to avoid.

Try:
*simplybikeinsurance
*ebikeinsurance
*Carol nash
*Adrian flux
**And who I got the best quote form (£375 TPFT) Lexham insurance* Smile

IMO, avoid, but you might want to try them for a laugh:

*Bennetts
*Norwich union
*chuchill etc.

TBH, the quote you mentioned seems a rip off especially at 18 for a 125, did you get your 1 years NCB?

Good luck ,
Tristan

Oh, and don't forget:

After completing the online quotation, if they/you phone, it will become a lower premium on the phone, at least that's what I found.

remember to play companies off each other, even if it means phoning each company numurous times, it's to your benefit, and they will back down!!

I hate insurance, its a rip off for me. Middle of a city, 3 points, unresolved accident - paid £700 for an SV650 TPFT. Dont know how my friend gets insurance for £400, probably registered to his dad with him as a named rider. Shame for him if he has an accident.

Think next time I could do with shopping around - my initial quotes were in the region of £2000.

look at you lot grumbling about 300 quid premiums.

When I got the Hyosung GT125R, Garaged in London, 12k miles per year, fully comp, 9 Points. 1500 quid was the best i could get. Glad that one got written off or i'd still be forking that out now!
By comparison the VFR was 700 TPFT

But surely you have to expect to have a higher premium when you but an imposted bike? My friend forked out 3 times as much as me for insurance of his imported scooter, and it was only probably made out of £10 worth of rust.

They arn't imports - they are sold as new in the UK market - so for insurance purposes subject to standard premiums. It was the theft risk in Sutton which did it.

Dont go with Bennetts!

I cancelled my policy 3months ago! I sent of my insurance certificate (never made it!) then over the past 3 months i have sent 4 declartions of not having an insurance certicate. Only 3weeks ago did they finally move on to giving me my money back (from cancelled policy).

They garanteed me (vebally) that it would take 2 weeks for it to go through, and it has been 3 weeks, and no word on how long it will take. If i had a crash i would love to see how long it takes them to sort that out!

Benntts are almost as bad as waiting for my Cagiva Parts - I've been waiting 3months for both of them. The only difference is that you can contact Bennetts!

Bennets are shite for learner drivers aswell. They quoted me £660 for an Aprilia RS125 for TPO. Also, Norwich Union are rubbish, they offered a premium of £700 for my Piaggio Zip 50. Really quoted me happy Thumbs Up

If you want a laugh try www.choicequote.co.uk I got quoted £2,084.49 for a 50CC Peugeot Blaster RS12 that I'm looking to buy.

www.50to125.com gave me a good quote of £222.13 and but the best people I found were a company called Elite Underwriting which quoted me £220.10.

My insurance for my fireblade ( I'm only 20 with a theft claim of £1200 and 3 points) is only £400 a year with Simply Insurance. God luck hope this helps.
