Well I'm not suprised to be honest; a reflection of how far we've gone down the same slippery slope Rome did. History as they say, repeats itself.
Corrupt leaders encourage corrupt public and private sectors until you get one heap of steamy turd-like corruption ready to engulf the lot of us in it's wake.
Armed police shooting or tazing people in the head on fabricated evidence will become the norm..

There's a small handful of people like us who know the score, then there are the rest of the mugs, muppets and tools who whine how it's all just a 'Big Conspiracy Theory' and post pathetic pictures of people wearing tin-foil hats.
Go work your guts out for a pittance and pay your taxes, you losers, and pray you're never in a position where being turned over by these uniformed scumbags will be of benefit to them. Because if it ever happens you'll be going down, big time. And you know what? Nobody will give a fvck, never mind help you. Why not? Because everytime you were warned you laughed and took the piss and did nothing about it.
The public gets the society it deserves, and in the UK's case it's a proper toilet. Keep your head down, work for next to nothing, pay your taxes and interest charges, you'll probably (probably) be left alone. Quality of life, ain't it grand? 
And while you're at it, shut your fucking whining about those on benefits/drug-dealing/whatever who won't stand still for it. Just because they've got the balls to protect their dignity doesn't entitle you to snivel because you ain't.

If the BBC, The Times and The Observer don't constitute 'The News', then what does? One of your sources is even a report published by the government.
I'm not getting into an argument about the content, but your references do seem to completely contradict the thread title.

Some interesting reading there, But I for one am not surprised when their is temptation and an opportunity on the table, That little green monster that is in us all, can come out to play, and once you get away with it once you go a bit further then abit more etc...
It's GREED and feeling that you are invincible, and untouchable.
But as the title implies... there will be a fair few here that wasn't born in 1983 and allot that weren’t older enough to remember that period.
But to think how close world war 3. Or should I say the destruction of the world as we know it now was only a few hours away 
So nothing really surprises me about what we are told and are not told, so I don't get worked up about it... I just live my life and stay chilled.

Yes, the Observer...that'll really get it out to the masses. Why wasn't it on the main TV news? Big time? Even if it was, that sort of thing gets a 30-second mention...then onto the IMPORTANT STUFF...Paris Hilton gets time for drink driving!!!
Police corruption trials are never given prominence. We're led to believe that our police are the finest, the most incorruptible, and judges take them at their word, and sway juries to do likewise, every day of the week. Then hand out big sentences on the basis of police perjury. SOP.
But as Ken says, who gives a fvck? Not me, not anymore. This country is a toilet, populated by spineless cattle, and my SOP is now to look after me and mine and screw everyone else.

The Dave Courtney thing is in one of Bernard o Mahoneys books, it explains the whole thing a lot better, there were also a couple of other ex police who were involved with Ree's who were jailed from information in the same investigation.
Just went on his website to get the book name and spent ages reading about the rettendon murders ( another very dodgy looking case) and can't remember what the book was called. 
It's not so much a case of being kept in the dark but more like there aren't many people who really care and would rather know if Britney is out without her underwear  .
