And how to get one? ,

Other than say smoke a pack of 40 a day......

One of those rare moments where I heard my own voice today and I don't like it (recording an personalised answer phone message at work), a gravelly / smokers (tommy vance like) voice would be interesting.

Do YOU like your voice?

Any thoughts?

It's been proven that you don't sound the same to yourself as you do to everyone else , something to do with the way your brain works and how it thinks its your voice. (thinks your talking)
Something like that any way.
Don't panic mate.
Thumbs Up

Nope, don't like mine.

I still succumb to tonsillitis a few times a year, and each time my voice is the first to go. For a few days either side I sound like a pair of knackered old bagpipes, a seal, then a 40-a-day woman ('ello sweed'art).

Apparently people would pay good money to hear that on the end of the 'phone ... "Whose been a naughty boy then?" ... should set myself up an 0906 line Mr. Green

You hear your own voice through bone conduction not through your ears thats why you sound different as your bones conduct certain frequencies better than others.

You always think you sound shit on anything you record but everyone else is used to it so dont worry.

I went skiing and some fella me and my mates were talking to in a bar had a voice like one of the guys off the Hollywood voice overs.

Apparently drinking whiskey every day from a young age helps.

I remember from the biography of Rock Hudson that he went out into the desert and screamed as hard as he could for hours to tear his vocal chords, as he was told that although his looks were great, his voice wasn't manly enough for acting. It seems to have worked.

Along the same lines, Bonnie Tyler had a throat op to remove some growths or something, and wasn't supposed to speak above a whisper for a couple of months whilst recovering. Something made her scream, and she tore her vocal chords too, giving her distinctive sound.

Or you could gargle bleach Smile
