Finally bought a kmx 125 now i'm thirty and my insurance is only £70 rather than £700, which it was back then so i had to buy a 100cc for my insurance to £120, didn't know my cbt ran out 10 years ago lol.

I've just completed my second cbt two weeks ago, is it me or do instructor's make it really long winded in what is required, the poor guy who was with me nearly fell off doing a U turn(And he was doing his full license)

Now I have satisfied my need for a faster two- stroke than previously having, In the near future I want a 250 four-stroke ready for after passing my bike license(Hopefully), can anyone recommend any older four stroke trail bikes, When I was 16 we use to watch this guy come roaring up the road same time everyday on a white 200 or 250 trail bike, I think it was a yamaha XT250 but not sure, thats my next step:)

You didn't realise your CBT ran out 10 years ago? that's ace. lol

mind you, there was a story of an old man, in his 80's, had driven since he was quite young, maybe 20's, without insurance and he got pulled for having a light out and the cop checked his insurance details etc.

how amazing? think of how much money he saved.

anyway, on topic..well done on the 125. hoping to get myself onto one of them, if i can save any money Crying or Very sad

Few "possible" reasons:

It is only a basic training

It encourages you to do your full test (better training)

It re-news any new skills, techniques and/or safety equipment knowledge

Funny thing is when I went to insure the bike the insurer says can you confirm you did your cbt in 1993, I scratched my head and confirmed, then later on i found out the cbt only lasts for 3 years (2 years now) and the insurer shoudn't have insured me, as I had no cbt or no date for a CBT at the time. Why didn't this insurer know that it hadn't ran out?

Insurers will happily give take your money and give you a certificate, but you can rest assured that should you attempt to make any form of claim you'll suddenly find it null and void.
