As per title, im a little bit stuck on what bike to have next...

I have been offered a ZXR750 / ZX7r - This bike is mechanically sound, very clean, no problems whatsoever - in the std kawasaki colors. - aftermarket bits ( Full micron race system)

OR

Firestorm, In black, - Again no problems with this not as good looking as the fairings have a few little scuffs! - Aftermarket bits( Chopped down Remus cans)

Both under a grand..

Whats peoples opinions?

Obviously i will have a sit on both, and test ride both!

They both have their disadvantages, however under a grand for either is a pretty decent price I'd say.
ZX7R will feel a bit sportier and should hold a line better, have better ground clearance etc.
Apart from the tank range, the Firestorm should be better for day to day and distance.

I'd go for the kwak too, but dispite my dislike of twins, it'd probably end up being a case of which was in better nick, etc.

If you test ride the Kawasaki, don't be put off by the riding position. It has been noted in many a review at the quite extreme hands down ass in the air riding position. After a while the aches do go and then it becomes natural and gives quite a 'sporty' feeling to the handling.

Kawasaki - not because i am biased, but when that V storm starts to make noises from the bottom end or camchain and you forget to change it - your fucked! Head down, arse up for the win.

Finding this out Shocked Used to going 200+miles before even having to find the wallet and think about maybe filling up next time by a garage, but its like its drinking it Laughing

I'm sure I was getting 120-130 miles before I'd top up, never ran on to reserve mind as too chicken.

That's the firestorm is /worse/ than the kawasaki.

Anyway, if you think that's bad, my CCM has a 8 litre tank - good for 70-90 miles.

My ZX9 has a 16 litre tank that was good for about 90-100 miles Confused - but we are talking seriously downgeared and a bit tuned.

CCM isn't exactly meant for touring though is it.

Sorry for pushing the same ol' thing, but the FZR will feel small, slow and just crap compared to the shear grunt and power of the ZXR. As soon as you straddle the beast you will grin, and then wait for the noise of the throbbing inline 4.
