10 weeks in jail is ridiculous for speeding.

They really have made an unfair example of him.

Didn't do him for speeding....

It was dangerous driving, which he pleaded guilty too.

It's dangerous driving because of the speed though, so same thing really. If the road was deserted they've definitely made an example of him.

I don't know how they can justify putting him in jail for 10 weeks, and yet that Jewish child molester (can't find the link on the BBC website) gets off without even going to jail.

end of the day if he loses it even on a motorway at them speeds the 3 foot tall barriers arent going to stop him.
All it takes is for something to be coming the other way...

No excuse for those speeds at all.
U want to do that and u can afford a porsche go to a track day, or nurburgring for a day or 2. Insurance wont be a problem, pretty sure if you crashed at 170+MPH the insurance would tell u to FO. Or your next of kin most likely

Not saying speeding on a quiet motorway is wrong, but there is speeding and taking the piss

It's that he could maybe have killed or raped some kids at that kind of speed that they're worried about, they don't have to wait he actually commits a crime or not.

Fair enough he should be punished if he was driving like a total knob at those speeds by getting on blatantly dangerously but the sentence is not equal to the 'crime'. Cameras can only tell what speed the car is traveling and not how well it is being driven.

There needs to be more real police and take away speed limits on most roads and the speeding kills campaign needs to stop. Iit gives some people the false believe that if you stay below the speed limit you're going to be safe and if you stray above it you'll definitely kill yourself and 5 other people. Where's all the money from the speed cameras going? Why is it not being spent on encouraging people to improve their driving and offer more advanced training.

The current test is useless for driving in the real world, you learn everything after it. There's no test for driving on the motorway and it shows. People are fucking stupid when it comes to motorways.

It was an A road with staggered junctions and pedestrian crossings. Given the speed he was travelling he'd have needed a clear half mile to finish braking.

He had also taken the car from work without permission so I guess he feels lucky to not have TWOCK offences as well.

Oh and he was pulled by real Police Officers - next case of speeding hysteria please.

You can't compare two cases and say that he should get off because someone else shouldn't have gotten away with something else - instead you should be focusing your attentions on why the guy that did get off was released, and make the appropriate protests.

Previous holders of the title have been bikers. one of whom got six weeks when caught in a speed trap and the other didn't get anything.

They just took speedo readings off his helmetcam after he crashed.

The most important safety item in/on any vehicle is the Driver/Rider/Operator

Which as far as I know is still Human v1.0 - unless you know of any upgrades that have passed me by reaction times haven't changed in the last 70 years.

The faster you go the further you travel before the brakes are operated, it isn't brain surgery.
