As the title suggests Smile do you know if it's possible to hire a motorbike in La Gomera?

I'm searching on Google and have turned up no info so far.

We're booking a last min deal there tonight and it would be great to hire a bike there too.

Thanks

Found one here:
https://www.alofi-rentals.com/index_de.html

They’re about a 45 min drive from the airport according to Google maps.

If they're still in business there's an ok selection of bikes, 125 to 650, all Trailies, they do scooters too.

I don't recall seeing anywhere when I was out there last year, but I only spent a day there. Are you flying directly to La Gomera? If not you could look to hire a bike on one of the other island and take it over on the ferry? I hired a daelim roadwin to go up teide.. but had returned it before I went to La Gomera.

We're flying into Tenerife and getting the ferry accross so hiring one there's not a bad option.

Will let the forum know how we get on. Smile

Didn't get a bike in the end but will try to next time. There's hundreds of miles of smooth tarmac, you can ride from sea level to 4000 ft in a few miles with sheer drops down to what looked like over 200 metres. The views are amazing and there's non of the built-up crap you get on Tenerife. Cool

Did you meet the wistling locals? The rainforests are the bit that I really enjoyed.. such diverse stuff in such a small area (Plus I felt smug at being ther only one other than the guide to have the foresight to bring an umbrella Laughing ). Wasn't impressed with the local food much though, got served tinned beef followed by a banana for desert in one restaurant. Tenerife isn't all like Playa de las Americas and the other resorts, if you're prepared to wander a bit their is plenty of empty space and culture.

Hi Dusty

Yeah the rainforests were great! we did a trek where you start at the top, above cloud cover and walk down one of the ancient tracks for half a day. Our guide said he married a local who's brothers speak in Silbo (whistled speech). I got a chance to hear it on the announcements on the ferry over, bizarre. Smile

Where we stayed at Playa De Santiago the food was mixed. Crap at the resort but in town and especially the Tecina Hotel the food was excellent. If you're ever back there check out the buffet at the hotel (top of the cliffs) or the BBQ restaurant at the bottom.

Cheers

Charlie
