I live near a 40 and a 50 road, I bloody well know they are 40 and 50mph , thing is some git has put a sticker over a few of the repeaters so that they say 10mph , which alot of unfamiliar road users tend to stick to (I'd have thought they'd have thought that it was odd that a wide open a good visibility road was a 10).

I'm thinking I should go peel off the stickers since the big round ones at each end of the 40 and 50mph zone are intact, and it kind of annoys me how people often plod along this road at 10mph AND honk their horns agressively at me as if I am speeding (when it is THEM who are too slow).

What would happen if I peeled them off and a cop saw me? , and what would happen if a cop caught the little git putting those stickers on? , (note a cop I know lives in a house right next to one of those repeaters to boot).

There is a right anti car/speed facist living round here , I remember once seeing lots of white lines (like a speed camera flash zone) on this road too.

Note itchy does not speed on this road either!.

Any thoughts?

Ta

Call the police, the fake speed signs are causing a danger to other road users.

Having to overtake a slow moving car due to fake signs could cause an accident!

Hi

Easier to put another vertical line in front of the 10 so that they read 110.

All the best

Cool! In a cannonball run sty-lee!

Actually Itchy, I suggest you get two hot chicks in spandex driving a Countach to spray paint a 1 infront of the 10. Cool Cool Cool Cool

Whoever's doing it could be prosecuted - just report it and they should be corrected within hours.

It's an offense to interfere with road safety signs.

If you catch rabid road safety boy at it shop him to the Police, preferably with photoevidence.

In the meantime complain to them about the graffetti being a traffic hazard! Why should you have to peel them off when some bored beat officer can do it instead.

Some idiot in a village neer here has put up some damn convincing speed camera signs on lamposts. There is definatly no camera to be seen (unless its painted in invisible paint rather than bright yellow and I doubt they'd get away with that Wink )

The same sign is also used for mobile cameras.

Plenty of the signs in North Yorkshire but no fixed cameras.

The silly tit doesn't realise he is creating hazards.

Definately call the police, it is vandalism and probably taken mroe seriously than that if they are tampering with road signage.

If you could find out who it was that would be even more satisfactory.
